Previous Fund Raising Events

Curry Night Umeeds Stalybridge

We had a hugely successful Curry Night at Umeeds Restaurant in Stalybridge with live music and more than 100 people coming to support our cause. Some fantastic food was prepared by the staff at Umeeds and they helped us raise more than £1000 between the 4 boys on the year 11 fund raising committee.

Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride

This was probably the toughest piece of fund raising I had to complete, luckily courtesy of generous donors, I was able to raise hundreds of pounds towards my appeal, but I did really earn this one!!

More than 50 miles of cycling, which I have to admit, I was fully prepared for, however, I battled on, despite the fierce wind that blows in towards the Lancashire coast. The group I rode with (some of the time at least!) will tell you I was completely broken at the end of this one!

The picture to the right is after the finish line where I was only too keen to get off my bike!!

Race night #2

Amazingly, Paul (Abbo) Abbott, and his family willingly agreed to generously give up his time again and let us run another race night.

We used the same venue, the Astley Arms Stalybridge kindly allowed us to use their pub again and we were able to raise several hundred pounds more for the lads going to Uganda (I am part of a committee of 4) .

This was an adult only night, so some less family friendly horse names were picked, which made for some red faces when epeople were going up to collect their winnings. Again, we really appreciated all the support we received. They very keen eyed amongst you will notice we 'adapted' our t-shirts to be a little more manly for the second event!

The First Race Night

The first and original race night, a families welcome, affair, and our first big push at fund raising. We were overwhelmed by the support we received, all kinds of friends, families, colleagues provided support and it was a fantastic afternoon for everyone involved. We raised a great deal of money that day, and outperformed a normal race night by some margin. We genuinely appreciate all of the support, with ouy, none of this would work out at all, you support is absolutely going to help the less fortunate people of Uganda to be educated and self sufficient, happy and healthier.
